Thanks to some nice moves Egídio Trindade could shoot a difficult shot in the 7th minute, which Felix Laremans however easily saved by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermenegildo Ribeiro in the 9th minute of play forced Eendracht Vooruit's goalkeeper Felix Laremans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Egídio Trindade had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Felix Laremans. Eendracht Vooruit's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Egídio Trindade was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. A collision led to Eendracht Vooruit getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Paulus Reynaerts hit a great ball. Laurentino Teixeira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 34th minute, Qwinten Vercammen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gustavo Ferrão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felix Laremans having to interfere. Viriato Leal came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Eendracht Vooruit's Qwinten Vercammen. But to his dismay, Qwinten Vercammen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Qwinten Vercammen charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Qwinten Vercammen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 46 minutes into the match, Eendracht Vooruit's goal looked a bit too open when Silvério Amaro came free, but Felix Laremans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Egídio Trindade stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Eendracht Vooruit booed when Sporting Clube Patrício was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvério Amaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felix Laremans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Egídio Trindade, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sporting Clube Patrício fans cheered their team off the field, for while Eendracht Vooruit had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
