The crowd rose to their feet as Alexandrino Quintas kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marcinho Marques. That made the score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. A collision led to Sporting Clube Patrício getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Armando Vides hit a great ball. Marcinho Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armando Vides, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Inter de Melão defense, Hermenegildo Ribeiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcinho Marques. The Inter de Melão fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcinho Marques should have stopped the shot. Marcinho Marques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silvério Amaro, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Silvério Amaro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marcinho Marques. That made the score 5-0 in the 25 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Sporting Clube Patrício's Altino Paião got a free kick in the 31st minute. In the 37th minute Altino Paião shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcinho Marques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38th minute of the match Sporting Clube Patrício got a corner. Inter de Melão's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Laurentino Teixeira ran over to the corner to take the kick. Sporting Clube Patrício's Laurentino Teixeira was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Marcinho Marques in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Marcinho Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Altino Paião, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 6-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Altino Paião to strike the kick off in the second half. Zeca de Sena in the 51stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Caio Carmona, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Manfredo Massa kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. If Hermenegildo Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Altino Paião in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcinho Marques saved Inter de Melão from getting behind. 73 minutes into the match, Altino Paião notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of Inter de Melão's Marcinho Marques. Marcinho Marques was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 75 minutes into the match, Inter de Melão's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseu Mourinho came free, but Marcinho Marques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 78th minute Alexandrino Quintas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcinho Marques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sporting Clube Patrício's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
