Adhemar Oliveira started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the game, Timothy Van Goethem recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marcinho Marques. Timothy Van Goethem showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Frédson Veiga charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Frédson Veiga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 5 played minutes Inter de Melão got a freekick which was hit by Frédson Veiga. After 8 played minutes Inter de Melão got a freekick which was hit by Ernani Dias. Marcinho Marques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bas Van der Vloedt in the 9th minute of play. Felix Laremans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernani Dias in the 11th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Inter de Melão's goalkeeper Marcinho Marques had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bas Van der Vloedt. In the 14th match minute, Inter de Melão was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adhemar Oliveira to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Tommi Claes in the 14th minute really tested Marcinho Marques's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Luiz Fábio Montenegro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Felix Laremans having to make a save. Timothy Van Goethem scored 2-1 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcinho Marques, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Timothy Van Goethem sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Eendracht Vooruit getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Timothy Van Goethem hit a great ball. If Ernani Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Timothy Van Goethem stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Teun Ceustermans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ernani Dias shot from long distance in the 53rd minute, but Felix Laremans was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Adhemar Oliveira's late challenge caught a Eendracht Vooruit's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adhemar Oliveira helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Inter de Melão's Adhemar Oliveira got a free kick in the 59th minute. Ernani Dias scored 2-2 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Felix Laremans, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 71 minutes into the match, Inter de Melão's goal looked a bit too open when Timothy Van Goethem came free, but Marcinho Marques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 76 played minutes Eendracht Vooruit got a freekick which was hit by Claude Van Boeckost. Adhemar Oliveira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcinho Marques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Timothy Van Goethem, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulus Reynaerts in the 85th minute of play forced Inter de Melão's goalkeeper Marcinho Marques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ernani Dias's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Felix Laremans firmly grabbed it by the left post. 96 minutes into the match, Inter de Melão's Edgar Nogueira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Felix Laremans narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Inter de Melão players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Eendracht Vooruit from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
