After a rather tough play, Mean Machine's Mattias Willig got a free kick in the 31st minute. A collision led to Mean Machine getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Jan Ekenberg hit a great ball. If Jan Ekenberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Casper Kleen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tommi Claes in the 40th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edmund Holmgren during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 53 minutes into the game, one of Mean Machine:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Casper Kleen, was totally fooled by Eendracht Vooruit's Timothy Van Goethem, who 55 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After 64 played minutes Eendracht Vooruit got a freekick which was hit by Teun Ceustermans. Timothy Van Goethem fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Casper Kleen having to interfere. Krister Thedin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felix Laremans having to interfere. Jan Ekenberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Felix Laremans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
