But to his dismay, Leo Chesus quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. A collision led to Patay Juniors getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Ceferino Monte hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edgard Ledesma got free with Marcial Estavan in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Dagoberto Neila's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cayetano Francho was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. 31 minutes into the match, Patay Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Herminio Iratze came free, but Cayetano Francho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 32 minutes had been played when some careless play by Patay Juniors's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Omar Orlan was slow to take the kick. During this time INDEPENDIENTE F.C.'s players had a chance to rest. Marcial Estavan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leo Chesus in the 44th minute of the match. The supporters of Patay Juniors booed when INDEPENDIENTE F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yngve Möller didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
