The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 20th minute Cleiton Ribeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cayetano Francho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Patay Juniors's zone, Eurico Duarte stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cayetano Francho came out of the goal and Eurico Duarte tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joaquim Pombal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Güntekin Enginer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Patay Juniors's Leandro Astigar suffered a sore thigh after 25 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Alexander McCuag's late challenge caught a Patay Juniors's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alexander McCuag helped the player get up and apologised. In the 26th match minute, Clube Sporting Navuo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander McCuag to maneuver through the defense. Cayetano Francho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eurico Duarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. The corner led Clube Sporting Navuo's Alexander McCuag to fire away a dangerous shot which Cayetano Francho despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Clube Sporting Navuo's Alexander McCuag got his second yellow card of the match in the 46th minute. The referee ordered Alexander McCuag off the ground. After 47 played minutes Clube Sporting Navuo got a freekick which was hit by Alexander McCuag. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
