They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mário Montenegro to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Deportivo Ortegano booed when Sporting Clube Patrício was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseu Mourinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sporting Clube Patrício's Almiro Setúbal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Sporting Clube Patrício from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Sporting Clube Patrício's Almiro Setúbal got control of the ball when Ronald Vordenbäumen tried to sneak it across the goal line. A nice corner shot did that Socorro Chavez got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Almiro Setúbal quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When the match was over Deportivo Ortegano could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sporting Clube Patrício throughout the match.
