When Honorato Andrade fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sporting Clube Patrício's protests and gave Honorato Andrade a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Vänge IF booed when Sporting Clube Patrício was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Honorato Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 6 played minutes Vänge IF got a freekick which was hit by Ernani Vargas. After 7 played minutes, Sporting Clube Patrício's Sandro Cortez shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ciriaco Hernando came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sporting Clube Patrício reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Malcolm Skark in the 8th minute of play forced Sporting Clube Patrício's goalkeeper Almiro Setúbal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rafael Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciriaco Hernando having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yuri Gaspar in the 12th minute of play forced Vänge IF's goalkeeper Ciriaco Hernando to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ciriaco Hernando showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yuri Gaspar, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Ciriaco Hernando made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yuri Gaspar in the 16th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Yuri Gaspar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ciriaco Hernando. Vänge IF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Yuri Gaspar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 19th minute Malcolm Skark shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Almiro Setúbal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Almiro Setúbal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mauro Otsoa went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. If Malcolm Skark had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ciriaco Hernando made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yuri Gaspar in the 31st minute of play. 32 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vänge IF's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jarbas Fontoura was slow to take the kick. During this time Sporting Clube Patrício's players had a chance to rest. Sporting Clube Patrício's Yuri Gaspar was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ciriaco Hernando in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Malcolm Skark fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Almiro Setúbal having to interfere. Måns Godholm hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Ciriaco Hernando made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Sá in the 41st minute of play. Almiro Setúbal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Malcolm Skark in the 42nd minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Vänge IF made a substitution. Bruno Giordani replaced Malcolm Skark. The wind increased when Bruno Giordani made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice moves Eliseu Mourinho could shoot a difficult shot in the 53rd minute, which Ciriaco Hernando however easily saved by the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yuri Gaspar in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ciriaco Hernando saved Vänge IF from getting behind. Almiro Setúbal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruno Giordani, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. 64 minutes into the game, Vincent Sjöö was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vänge IF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sporting Clube Patrício the free kick. A collision led to Vänge IF getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Vincent Sjöö hit a great ball. Yuri Gaspar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Ciriaco Hernando made a huge save. Almiro Setúbal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Markus Albäck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Almiro Setúbal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Markus Albäck's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. When the match clock showed 70 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Markus Albäck sped through Sporting Clube Patrício's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Almiro Setúbal. In the 74th match minute, Sporting Clube Patrício was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandro Cortez to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Markus Albäck in the 75th minute of play forced Sporting Clube Patrício's goalkeeper Almiro Setúbal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Almiro Setúbal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Markus Albäck, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the 76th minute, Yuri Gaspar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 79th minute, Bruno Giordani made a precise shot to the right of Almiro Setúbal. Sporting Clube Patrício's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Ernani Vargas charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ernani Vargas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jarbas Fontoura took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 87th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ciriaco Hernando. Vänge IF's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 89 played minutes Vänge IF got a freekick which was hit by Ramiro James. After some careless play in the Sporting Clube Patrício defense, Markus Albäck kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Almiro Setúbal. The Sporting Clube Patrício fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Almiro Setúbal should have stopped the shot. Bruno Giordani recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Almiro Setúbal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Markus Albäck in the 97th minute of the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Vänge IF had played much better football throughout.
