With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fábio Pinheiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fábio Pinheiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabrizio Canzano in the 20th minute of play. In the 24th match minute, Gremio NG was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raimundo Travassos to maneuver through the defense. Fábio Pinheiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ove Bergman went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Celsinho Lima's late challenge caught a Villa Gordiani's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
