DENVER™'s Toninho Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Umberto Dionísio in the 2nd minute of play. In the 4th minute Anísio Alagoano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toninho Pinheiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 4 minutes into the game, Anísio Alagoano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Toninho Pinheiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 7 minutes, Magno Pereira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Castanheiro SC and the DENVER™ players grew even worse after the yellow card. Magno Pereira hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. 11 minutes into the match, DENVER™'s goal looked a bit too open when Benedito Mineiro came free, but Toninho Pinheiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 12 minutes, Wanderson Passos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the DENVER™ and the Castanheiro SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, DENVER™'s Wanderson Passos got a free kick in the 12th minute. Toninho Pinheiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Benedito Mineiro went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Nilmar Freitas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedrinho Guimarães read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. Mathias Carvalho kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. 32 minutes into the match, DENVER™'s goal looked a bit too open when Umberto Dionísio came free, but Toninho Pinheiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Toninho Pinheiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benedito Mineiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benedito Mineiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toninho Pinheiro having to interfere. Toninho Pinheiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anísio Alagoano, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Umberto Dionísio scored 0-4 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Toninho Pinheiro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half Castanheiro SC were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Umberto Dionísio was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, DENVER™'s goal looked a bit too open when Umberto Dionísio came free, but Toninho Pinheiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anísio Alagoano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toninho Pinheiro having to interfere. Luiz Guilherme Toscano kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benedito Mineiro in the 64th minute of play forced DENVER™'s goalkeeper Toninho Pinheiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Toninho Pinheiro was a little too slow when Umberto Dionísio got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 68th minute. The score was now 0-5. Castanheiro SC made a substitution. Mauro Sarmento replaced Magno Pereira. In the 74th minute, Luisinho Seco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Umberto Dionísio hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Castanheiro SC's Júnior Alagoano was substituted for Edinho Pirani. Castanheiro SC made a substitution. Marcelo Eger replaced Anísio Alagoano. In the 77th match minute, Castanheiro SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Umberto Dionísio to maneuver through the defense. Toninho Pinheiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedito Mineiro in the 78th minute of play. DENVER™'s Wanderson Passos got his second yellow card of the match in the 79th minute. The referee ordered Wanderson Passos off the ground. A collision led to DENVER™ getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Wanderson Passos hit a great ball. When Mauro Sarmento came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Castanheiro SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mauro Sarmento couldn't finish the play. 81 minutes into the match, Umberto Dionísio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Toninho Pinheiro. DENVER™'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Umberto Dionísio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. In the 89th minute, Benedito Mineiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Castanheiro SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. Toninho Pinheiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelo Eger in the 94th minute of the match. Marcelo Eger received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Toninho Pinheiro came out and tried to block the shot, but Marcelo Eger slotted it home off the left post making it 0-8 in the 96th minute.
