An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Marchidan in the 10th minute of play forced Catugi FC's goalkeeper Folke Österlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Folke Österlund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Obafuso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Dudu Borges's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cláudio Taffarel was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. But to his dismay, Manuel Marchidan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Manuel Marchidan to make the kick off. Folke Österlund made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Emanuel Obafuso sent off a good shot on target. Folke Österlund was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Severino Jatsu. Emanuel Obafuso succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-5 in the 80th playminute. In the 87th minute, Jaime Cordero made a precise shot to the right of Folke Österlund. Catugi FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-7. Folke Österlund made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jaime Cordero in the 91st minute. 93 minutes into the match, Catugi FC's goalkeeper Folke Österlund had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emanuel Obafuso. A collision led to Catugi FC getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Tiaguinho Fernandez hit a great ball. After 95 played minutes Catugi FC got a freekick which was hit by Oscar Bastos. Racing Club【LBF】's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
