After having played for 13 minutes, Willian Tinoco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Catugi FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Willian Tinoco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cirilo Urki's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Reko Nybacka read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Juan Sendoa showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The corner went over the outstretched arms of A. Korn's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The audience was convinced that Agnaldo Brodel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Juan Sendoa was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Aílton Domingues made in the 46th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Aírton de Queiroz however managed to control. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

In the 70th minute of the game Aílton Domingues made a throw-in which Luiz Fernando Abraão played forward. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Agnaldo Brodel in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juan Sendoa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of A. Korn booed when Catugi FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aírton de Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 84 played minutes Catugi FC got a freekick which was hit by Aírton de Queiroz. In the 85th minute, Nacho Fernández sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Catugi FC's Reko Nybacka didn't even have to move. Cirilo Urki charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cirilo Urki the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Cirilo Urki kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in A. Korn's zone, Agnaldo Brodel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juan Sendoa came out of the goal and Agnaldo Brodel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to A. Korn getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Nacho Fernández hit a great ball. Many of A. Korn's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. A. Korn may have spent more time on the ball, but Catugi FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
