In the 9th minute Håkan Šuker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reko Nybacka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 9th play minutes Håkan Šuker shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Reko Nybacka and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 12th minute, Håkan Šuker reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Reko Nybacka. The goal made the score 2-0. Catugi FC's Aírton de Queiroz pulled a muscle in his back after 14 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Elias Millrick fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored La Cosa Nostra's protests and gave Elias Millrick a yellow card for diving instead. Catugi FC made a substitution. Oscar Bastos replaced Aírton de Queiroz. Elias Millrick kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Sonny Alén showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dudu Borges in the 16th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Millrick in the 18th minute of play forced Catugi FC's goalkeeper Reko Nybacka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sonny Alén made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agnaldo Brodel in the 22nd minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Catugi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Elias Millrick came free, but Reko Nybacka reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Millrick in the 24th minute of play forced Catugi FC's goalkeeper Reko Nybacka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the game, Aílton Domingues threw the ball into play from the sideline. La Cosa Nostra's Ricardo Araújo quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 28 minutes into the match, Catugi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Håkan Šuker came free, but Reko Nybacka reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Agnaldo Brodel made the kick off in the second half. 50 minutes into the game, La Cosa Nostra's Elias Millrick nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Reko Nybacka made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. After some careless play in the Catugi FC defense, Håkan Šuker kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Reko Nybacka. The Catugi FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Reko Nybacka should have stopped the shot. Reko Nybacka showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elias Millrick in the 58th minute of the match. 59 minutes had been played when some careless play by Catugi FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Hans Bergfelt was slow to take the kick. During this time La Cosa Nostra's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Joaquim Vital managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Reko Nybacka took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquim Vital, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Reko Nybacka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elias Millrick in the 61st minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, La Cosa Nostra's goalkeeper Sonny Alén had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dudu Borges. The La Cosa Nostra fans' excitement grew in the 64th match minute when La Cosa Nostra's Elias Millrick looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a rather tough play, Catugi FC's Aílton Domingues got a free kick in the 67th minute. After 69 minutes of play, La Cosa Nostra's Hans Bergfelt made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Reko Nybacka was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 75th minute Håkan Šuker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reko Nybacka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reko Nybacka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Håkan Šuker, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pedro Pedroso during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Catugi FC booed when La Cosa Nostra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Pedroso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sonny Alén made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Agnaldo Brodel sent off a good shot on target. After 84 minutes of play, La Cosa Nostra's Håkan Šuker made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Reko Nybacka was left in no man's land by his defense there! Reko Nybacka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Håkan Šuker in the 88th minute of play. Catugi FC's Reko Nybacka played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Håkan Šuker in the 92nd minute of play. Håkan Šuker scored 8-0 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Reko Nybacka, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
