The audience thought a goal was coming when Håkan Šuker got free with Cláudio Taffarel in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 13 minutes into the match, La Cosa Nostra's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredo Rossi came free, but Sonny Alén reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The throw-in from Lucho Gonzales in the 14th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by La Cosa Nostra's Hans Bergfelt. After a defensive mix-up in Racing Club【LBF】's zone, Håkan Šuker stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cláudio Taffarel came out of the goal and Håkan Šuker tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cláudio Taffarel came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by La Cosa Nostra's Håkan Šuker. But to his dismay, Håkan Šuker quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. The audience was convinced that Håkan Šuker's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cláudio Taffarel was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. 26 minutes had been played when some careless play by Racing Club【LBF】's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Hans Bergfelt was slow to take the kick. During this time La Cosa Nostra's players had a chance to rest. Hans Bergfelt made a great header on La Cosa Nostra's corner, it was just that Racing Club【LBF】's Cláudio Taffarel managed to reach the ball for a save. Elias Millrick was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 28th minute. La Cosa Nostra's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Racing Club【LBF】's goalkeeper Cláudio Taffarel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Manuel Marchidan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sonny Alén having to interfere. 40 minutes into the match, La Cosa Nostra's Håkan Šuker sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cláudio Taffarel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lucho Gonzales got a throw-in 44 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Manuel Marchidan. Ramon Achterberg hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alfredo Rossi was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes La Cosa Nostra got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Araújo. Sonny Alén acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 52nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Jeffrey Taverniers. Cláudio Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Håkan Šuker, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Cláudio Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Håkan Šuker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, La Cosa Nostra's Sonny Alén got control of the ball when Alfredo Rossi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alfredo Rossi struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Sonny Alén didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Racing Club【LBF】. Lucho Gonzales made in the 59th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by La Cosa Nostra's Hans Bergfelt. Gustavo Severiano's late challenge caught a Racing Club【LBF】's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gustavo Severiano helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to La Cosa Nostra getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Gustavo Severiano hit a great ball. Sonny Alén made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Rossi in the 71st minute of play. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Racing Club【LBF】's goalkeeper Cláudio Taffarel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Agnaldo Reis kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. La Cosa Nostra made a substitution. Mao Yang Yang replaced Ricardo Araújo. Maurício Mansilha blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cláudio Taffarel having to make a save. 91 minutes into the match, Racing Club【LBF】's goal looked a bit too open when Maurício Mansilha came free, but Cláudio Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, La Cosa Nostra could leave the field as winners, despite Racing Club【LBF】 having more of the ball for most of the match.
