An unexpectedly hard shot by Evaristo de Souza in the 23rd minute of play forced HORIZZONT's goalkeeper Yuan Ying to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yuan Ying showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Alberto Soares in the 24th minute of the match. Rahim Sidam could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Paulo Gaizkine made a huge save. After 42 minutes HORIZZONT's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Erik Sanches who took care of the corner kick. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Carlos Alberto Soares made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Kasım Sahadettin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. HORIZZONT's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Catugi FC the free kick. In the 51st minute, Kasım Sahadettin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of HORIZZONT booed when Catugi FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabiano Maranhense didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 64th match minute, Catugi FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamim Alvarenga to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Evaristo de Souza took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Yuan Ying to make any attempt to save it. Yuan Ying made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Walmir Pombal sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of HORIZZONT booed when Catugi FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamim Alvarenga didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Walmir Pombal kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Yuan Ying. That made the score 0-3 in the 92 minute of play. When the match was over Catugi FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than HORIZZONT throughout the match.
