After 8 minutes, Gugu Guimarães mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dinamo Colorado and the Formentera players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 8 played minutes Dinamo Colorado got a freekick which was hit by Gugu Guimarães. David Tabb charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed David Tabb the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. David Tabb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Léo Pinheiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Léo Pinheiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santo Illan, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Léo Pinheiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonides Manny, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 20 played minutes Dinamo Colorado got a freekick which was hit by Rodriguinho Coelho. Camilo Mondragon made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Gugu Guimarães sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Santo Illan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Formentera's supporters rose to their feet, but Santo Illan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Léo Pinheiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Léo Pinheiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of David Tabb's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Formentera's goalkeeper Camilo Mondragon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Charles Loyola. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonides Manny in the 32nd minute of play forced Dinamo Colorado's goalkeeper Léo Pinheiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rd minute Formentera were awarded a corner. Tobias Ponciano went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Formentera's Tobias Ponciano to fire away a dangerous shot which Léo Pinheiro despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. If Guillermo Marin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guillermo Marin hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when David Tabb stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rafael Borre took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Camilo Mondragon. Camilo Mondragon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After 61 minutes, Cesinha Meirelles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dinamo Colorado and the Formentera players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Dinamo Colorado's Cesinha Meirelles got a free kick in the 61st minute. When David Tabb, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 70 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Léo Pinheiro was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Dinamo Colorado's Christian Gaúcho was substituted for Charles Loyola. Léo Pinheiro didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Formentera's David Tabb shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-1 in the ordered_time% minute. David Tabbs short, quick shot in the 78thth minute got Léo Pinheiro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
