The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 16th minute Gugu Guimarães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arsenio Maiorga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ivan Bernad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Dinamo Colorado getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Cesinha Meirelles hit a great ball. Martin Palermo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Léo Pinheiro firmly grabbed it by the left post. The supporters of LTA FC booed when Dinamo Colorado was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodriguinho Coelho didn't get a good kick on the ball. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Martin Palermo to strike the kick off in the second half. Dinamo Colorado's Léo Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Palermo in the 53rd minute of play.
