Xorxe Canosa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pavel Romanescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. Shaun Lucas got a throw-in 8 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Wiktor Dropinski. Tanek Zurawski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miltos Kotsovolos, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. With an all-out effort, Machu Picchu's Pavel Romanescu threw himself towards the right post 21 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Xorxe Canosa, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Pavel Romanescu made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Xorxe Canosa sent off a good shot on target. Pavel Romanescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xorxe Canosa in the 26th minute of play. Pavel Romanescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xorxe Canosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Xorxe Canosa took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pavel Romanescu. Pavel Romanescu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Xorxe Canosa got free with Pavel Romanescu in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in FC Pegasas Siauliai's zone, Xorxe Canosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pavel Romanescu came out of the goal and Xorxe Canosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tanek Zurawski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artemio Quiroga in the 48th minute of play.
57 minutes into the match, Machu Picchu's Xorxe Canosa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pavel Romanescu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 58th minute of the match Machu Picchu got a corner. FC Pegasas Siauliai's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Yavuz Selim Hekimhanlı ran over to the corner to take the kick. 66 minutes into the game, Emil Torstensson threw the ball into play from the sideline. Machu Picchu's Dom Lugano quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 68th minute of the match Machu Picchu got a corner. FC Pegasas Siauliai's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Yavuz Selim Hekimhanlı ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Yavuz Selim Hekimhanlı almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC Pegasas Siauliai's Pavel Romanescu did a great save. Artemio Quiroga scored 1-1 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tanek Zurawski, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. FC Pegasas Siauliai's Pavel Romanescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xorxe Canosa in the 78th minute of play. Artemio Quiroga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xorxe Canosa in the 94th minute of play forced FC Pegasas Siauliai's goalkeeper Pavel Romanescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Xorxe Canosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Pavel Romanescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Xorxe Canosa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Machu Picchu's supporters rose to their feet, but Xorxe Canosa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pavel Romanescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
