This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed César Soares as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 18th minute of the match Pedro Paulo Arce sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alexandre Pires skillfully saved the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Brothers of Mercy's Yngve Röd slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of César Soares. That made the score 2-0 after 23 minutes of play. The corner ended in Yngve Röd almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Fabiofs's César Soares did a great save. José Furtado kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. When Brothers of Mercy's Ulf Öfverman in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The throw-in from André Pontes in the 41st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Brothers of Mercy's Joachim Billberg. Brothers of Mercy's Leonardo Odeen managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by André Pontes in the 45 minute of the game. In the 46th minute, Yngve Röd reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of César Soares. The goal made the score 4-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Elano de Salles made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes had been played when some careless play by Fabiofs's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Björn Strömberg was slow to take the kick. During this time Brothers of Mercy's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Brothers of Mercy's corner Björn Strömberg fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and César Soares quite easily take care of the ball. With a little luck, Brothers of Mercy's Alexandre Pires got control of the ball when Elano de Salles tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Brothers of Mercy getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Thiago van Dijk hit a great ball. Alexandre Pires showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Milton Friedman, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulf Öfverman in the 62nd minute of play forced Fabiofs's goalkeeper César Soares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
