Teun Verbraecken showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from August Wahlnäs in the 31st minute of the match. August Wahlnäs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Barra Funda F.C booed when AFC - Curitiba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hermínio Alvarenga didn't get a good kick on the ball. 45 minutes into the match, Jan Bykowski notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Barra Funda F.C's Teun Verbraecken. In the 68th minute of the match Barra Funda F.C got a corner. AFC - Curitiba's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Edmílson Mineiro ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of AFC - Curitiba's goalie and right to Fabinho Porto. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. AFC - Curitiba's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. AFC - Curitiba's Matouš Carda got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fausto da Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogério Cunha in the 75th minute of play. Fausto da Rocha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Inácio Domingues in the 77th minute of the match. August Wahlnäs blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Teun Verbraecken having to make a save. When AFC - Curitiba's Jan Bykowski, in the 81st minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for AFC - Curitiba. In the 89th match minute, Barra Funda F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armandinho Vieira to maneuver through the defense. Silvio Asier recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nichifor Miroiu's late challenge caught a AFC - Curitiba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nichifor Miroiu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 91st minute, Nichifor Miroiu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Hermínio Alvarenga in the 93rd minute really tested Teun Verbraecken's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal.
