After a rather tough play, Águilas Poblanas's Cengiz Canalp got a free kick in the 15th minute. Erkan Cerme made in the 16th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Águilas Poblanas's Epifanio Intxixu. A collision led to KIRIKKALESPOR getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Camilo Hegoi hit a great ball. After 21 played minutes KIRIKKALESPOR got a freekick which was hit by Saruhan Şenbay. Jacinto Galeno's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Raoul Boehnke read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. 31 minutes had been played when some careless play by KIRIKKALESPOR's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Godofredo Hibai was slow to take the kick. During this time Águilas Poblanas's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Alin Cristaldo managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 34th match minute, Águilas Poblanas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Epifanio Intxixu to maneuver through the defense. If Jacinto Galeno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fırat Şahinalp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Raoul Boehnke came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Águilas Poblanas's Jacinto Galeno. But to his dismay, Jacinto Galeno quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Jacinto Galeno blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Raoul Boehnke having to make a save. KIRIKKALESPOR's Raoul Boehnke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacinto Galeno in the 46th minute of play.

Águilas Poblanas made a substitution. Iker Urti replaced Godofredo Hibai. Águilas Poblanas's Eusebio Beltran was substituted for Jacinto Galeno. Águilas Poblanas's Virgilio Txindoki was substituted for Ciro Matai. Eusebio Beltran recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 54thth minute of the game Tudor Orășan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Águilas Poblanas's Alexandros Ismael was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 58 minutes into the match, Águilas Poblanas's Eusebio Beltran sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Raoul Boehnke narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 63rd minute, Alin Cristaldo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Águilas Poblanas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. 66 minutes into the match, Águilas Poblanas's Eusebio Beltran sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Raoul Boehnke narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 67th minute Águilas Poblanas were awarded a corner. Alin Cristaldo went to the cornerflag to take it. Through an outstanding action, after 69 minutes, Raoul Boehnke successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 82 minutes had been played when some careless play by KIRIKKALESPOR's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alin Cristaldo was slow to take the kick. During this time Águilas Poblanas's players had a chance to rest. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Eusebio Beltran took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Raoul Boehnke to make any attempt to save it. Águilas Poblanas's Alexandros Ismael played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kadir Sen in the 87th minute of play. After some careless play in the KIRIKKALESPOR defense, Eusebio Beltran kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Raoul Boehnke. The KIRIKKALESPOR fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Raoul Boehnke should have stopped the shot. Tolgahan Satıbey hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. In the 97th minute, Eusebio Beltran got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Águilas Poblanas supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Águilas Poblanas would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
