In the 9th minute, Zamalek FC's Zack Grier seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Zack Grier the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Zamalek FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Zack Grier had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Zamalek FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 9th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 11 minutes, Hendek Spor Kulübü's Ayberk Gümüşcü got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Rhys Dimmock. Rhys Dimmock made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Cristián Ronaldo sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fred Kirkpatrick in the 19th minute of play forced Hendek Spor Kulübü's goalkeeper I Putu 董卓 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. I Putu 董卓 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sergey Krasinskiy, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. 22 minutes into the match, Hendek Spor Kulübü's goal looked a bit too open when Sergey Krasinskiy came free, but I Putu 董卓 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rhys Dimmock took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nacho Scocco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. I Putu 董卓 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mugurel Balaeț in the 24th minute of play. Refik Halit Hatemoğlus short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got Rhys Dimmock to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 30th minute Mugurel Balaeț shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but I Putu 董卓 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rhys Dimmock showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Refik Halit Hatemoğlu, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. 32 minutes into the game, Nacho Scocco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Rhys Dimmock showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristián Ronaldo in the 70th minute of the match. After 73 minutes, Leonardo Lane mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zamalek FC and the Hendek Spor Kulübü players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 73 played minutes Zamalek FC got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Lane. Zamalek FC's Jann Bernickow was substituted for Leonardo Lane. The supporters of Hendek Spor Kulübü booed when Zamalek FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Lane didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mugurel Balaeț in the 84th minute of play forced Hendek Spor Kulübü's goalkeeper I Putu 董卓 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 84th minute, Mugurel Balaeț left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Zamalek FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-1. Zamalek FC made a substitution. Daron Joseph replaced Fred Kirkpatrick.
