Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Higinio Arraz in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lew Yashin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Higinio Arraz in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lew Yashin saved Modlau from getting behind. 11 minutes into the match, Modlau's goal looked a bit too open when Tadeu Loyola came free, but Lew Yashin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lew Yashin was out of position in the 14 minute of play, and Higinio Arraz capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Higinio Arraz really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Higinio Arraz got free with Lew Yashin in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ortle Sancho in the 19th minute of play forced FC Bemowo's goalkeeper Dariusz Bielejewski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Higinio Arraz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Lew Yashin when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Modlau booed when FC Bemowo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hieronim Cisek didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lew Yashin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tadeu Loyola, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lew Yashin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tadeu Loyola, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Higinio Arraz to strike the kick off in the second half. If Tadeu Loyola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 55 played minutes Modlau got a freekick which was hit by Boleslaw Slazak. Modlau's Lew Yashin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tadeu Loyola in the 57th minute of play. 57 minutes into the game, FC Bemowo's Tadeu Loyola nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lew Yashin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. After some careless play in the Modlau defense, Higinio Arraz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lew Yashin. The Modlau fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lew Yashin should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tadeu Loyola in the 64th minute of play forced Modlau's goalkeeper Lew Yashin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Bemowo's Qiu Bin Zhen was substituted for Higinio Arraz. FC Bemowo's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. In the 70th minute Qiu Bin Zhen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lew Yashin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Qiu Bin Zhen took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lew Yashin. Lew Yashin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Tadeu Loyola managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Bemowo's supporters rose to their feet, but Tadeu Loyola was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lew Yashin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The FC Bemowo fans cheered their team off the field, for while Modlau had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
