With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bebeto de Salles prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adalberto Albuquerque during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in União Verde FC's zone, Duda Lago stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bebeto de Salles came out of the goal and Duda Lago tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Ekzema F.V. fans' excitement grew in the 19th match minute when Ekzema F.V.'s Murilo Paes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 22 minutes into the game, Fernandão Loyola was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. União Verde FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ekzema F.V. the free kick. In the 24th minute, União Verde FC's Adalberto Albuquerque seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Adalberto Albuquerque the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of União Verde FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Adalberto Albuquerque had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 24th minute of the game. One of União Verde FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ekzema F.V.:s goal. When Ekzema F.V.'s Murilo Paes in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Ekzema F.V.'s Murilo Paes got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half Ekzema F.V. were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fernandão Loyola was the one to do the kick off. After 52 played minutes União Verde FC got a freekick which was hit by Laércio Damião. Bebeto de Salles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Murilo Paes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valdomiro Paraibano kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. After 62 played minutes Ekzema F.V. got a freekick which was hit by Duda Lago. If Gilvan Pombal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bebeto de Salles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Murilo Paes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 72 minutes of play, Ekzema F.V.'s Jerônimo Batista made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bebeto de Salles was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jerônimo Batista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to União Verde FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Valdomiro Paraibano hit a great ball. Murilo Paes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bebeto de Salles having to interfere. Bebeto de Salles made an important save on a dangerous shot by Samuca Tróia in the 92nd minute. After 94 played minutes União Verde FC got a freekick which was hit by Cauã Maciel.
