When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Boleslaw Zielinski sped through União Verde FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Valdir Pérez. 10 minutes into the game, Boleslaw Zielinski cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Valdir Pérez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Valdir Pérez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Boleslaw Zielinski in the 13th minute of play. Boleslaw Zielinski's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valdir Pérez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. In the 17th minute, Boleslaw Zielinski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Valdir Pérez was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Boleslaw Zielinski put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Valdir Pérez. Valdir Pérez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Boleslaw Zielinski in the 29th minute of play. Lyons's attentive Marcos Berasko managed to snatch the ball when Gil Paiva made a throw-in in the 31st minute of the game. Valdir Pérez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Boleslaw Zielinski, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Valdir Pérez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Boleslaw Zielinski in the 34th minute of the match. Boleslaw Zielinski scored 0-6 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Valdir Pérez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Boleslaw Zielinski scored 0-7 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Valdir Pérez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 42nd minute Boleslaw Zielinski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdir Pérez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Boleslaw Zielinski took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Valdir Pérez. Valdir Pérez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-9. After the first half Lyons were leading 0-9. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Mario Chago fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdir Pérez having to interfere. Valdir Pérez was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Boleslaw Zielinski showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-10 in the 56 minute of play. Valdir Pérez came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Lyons's Boleslaw Zielinski. But to his dismay, Boleslaw Zielinski quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-11. Boleslaw Zielinski in the 66thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Valdir Pérez, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The Lyons fans' excitement grew in the 66th match minute when Lyons's Boleslaw Zielinski looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-12 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of Lyons booed when União Verde FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adalberto Albuquerque didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 74th minute, Lyons's Dariusz Roano dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-13. 77 minutes into the game, Dariusz Roano recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Valdir Pérez. Dariusz Roano showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-14. Dariusz Roano received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Valdir Pérez came out and tried to block the shot, but Dariusz Roano slotted it home off the left post making it 0-15 in the 80th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Dariusz Roano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lyons's supporters rose to their feet, but Dariusz Roano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valdir Pérez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aurelio Vasco struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Valdir Pérez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lyons. Dariusz Roano scored 0-16 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Valdir Pérez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in União Verde FC's zone, Ruperto Salvadore stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valdir Pérez came out of the goal and Ruperto Salvadore tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Valdir Pérez was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dariusz Roano showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-17 in the 96 minute of play. Lyons's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
