Unión De Santa Fe's supporters crossed their fingers, but René Orlando was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind União Verde FC's goalkeeper Valdir Pérez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Valdir Pérez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Gotzon in the 8th minute of play. Valdir Pérez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jorge Gotzon went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Valdir Pérez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paskal Ayarza's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. Paskal Ayarza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdir Pérez having to interfere. Yang Zhan Xiao fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdir Pérez having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paskal Ayarza in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valdir Pérez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Valdir Pérez came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Unión De Santa Fe's Jorge Gotzon. But to his dismay, Jorge Gotzon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Paskal Ayarza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Brian Lebigot kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. If Paskal Ayarza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Paskal Ayarza's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valdir Pérez was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Paskal Ayarza scored 0-4 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Valdir Pérez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Paskal Ayarza came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Unión De Santa Fe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paskal Ayarza couldn't finish the play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paskal Ayarza to make the kick off. Valdir Pérez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paskal Ayarza in the 51st minute of play. Valdir Pérez was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jorge Gotzon showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 53 minute of play. After 59 played minutes Unión De Santa Fe got a freekick which was hit by Yang Zhan Xiao. Paskal Ayarza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdir Pérez having to interfere. Unión De Santa Fe's Paskal Ayarza got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Valdir Pérez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-8. After a defensive mix-up in União Verde FC's zone, Paskal Ayarza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valdir Pérez came out of the goal and Paskal Ayarza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Paskal Ayarza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 96 minutes, Paskal Ayarza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Unión De Santa Fe's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
