Kurtuluş Erdursun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Omar Hennebelle made in the 23rd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Dimitris Spanakos. 28 minutes into the match, Lyons's Boleslaw Zielinski sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kurtuluş Erdursun narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Boleslaw Zielinski in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kurtuluş Erdursun prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 44th minute Miltiadis Kokkinis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisito Quinten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 46 minutes into the match, Lyons's goalkeeper Luisito Quinten had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Miltiadis Kokkinis. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Miltiadis Kokkinis to make the kick off. In the 50th minute, Miltiadis Kokkinis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 60 minutes into the match, FC Bad Company's goal looked a bit too open when Ruperto Salvadore came free, but Kurtuluş Erdursun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kurtuluş Erdursun made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Boleslaw Zielinski sent off a good shot on target. Lyons's Dariusz Roano was substituted for Boleslaw Zielinski. Omar Hennebelle made in the 70th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Dimitris Spanakos however managed to control. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Dariusz Roano put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Kurtuluş Erdursun. Dariusz Roano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ruperto Salvadore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Lyons booed when FC Bad Company was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Omar Hennebelle didn't get a good kick on the ball.
