The União Verde FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valdir Pérez should have stopped the shot. Paskal Ayarza scored 3-0 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Valdir Pérez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ernesto Moise received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Valdir Pérez came out and tried to block the shot, but Ernesto Moise slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 14th minute. If Paskal Ayarza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Duarte do Vale might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hector Fidencio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Duarte do Vale ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Unión De Santa Fe's Arnaldo Vellito got a free kick in the 24th minute.
