The ball went over the crossbar instead. 24 minutes into the game, Erling Gruteser was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hamburg City Vampires's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave São José City - FSCMZ the free kick. A collision led to Hamburg City Vampires getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Erling Gruteser hit a great ball. In the 26th minute, Genaro Aragones left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The São José City - FSCMZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Genaro Aragones in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Silvano Blech saved Hamburg City Vampires from getting behind. Silvano Blech showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Genaro Aragones, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Genaro Aragones blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Silvano Blech having to make a save. Silvano Blech breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Genaro Aragones got free with Silvano Blech in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ariel Bautista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as São José City - FSCMZ's Genaro Aragones slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Silvano Blech. That made the score 0-4 after 76 minutes of play. Ariel Bautista struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Lino Mazza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hamburg City Vampires. Genaro Aragones could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Silvano Blech made a huge save. A sloppy throw-in by Erling Gruteser in the 81st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by São José City - FSCMZ's Jonathan Dijk. A collision led to Hamburg City Vampires getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Erling Gruteser hit a great ball. 84 minutes into the game, Genaro Aragones recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Silvano Blech. Genaro Aragones showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. Silvano Blech was a little too slow when Genaro Aragones got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 91st minute. The score was now 0-6. The supporters of São José City - FSCMZ booed when Hamburg City Vampires was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erling Gruteser didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle sounded São José City - FSCMZ left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Hamburg City Vampires.
