Rigan Frankson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lew Yashin having to make a save. 23 minutes into the match, Modlau's goal looked a bit too open when Rigan Frankson came free, but Lew Yashin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Rigan Frankson notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Modlau's Lew Yashin. In the 42nd minute, Rigan Frankson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Damazy Jucha charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Damazy Jucha the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 49th minute, Rigan Frankson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The 1948 MKS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. After the first half 1948 MKS were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rigan Frankson was the one to do the kick off. Lew Yashin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rigan Frankson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ter Stegen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Barry McCray in the 58th minute of the match. After 62 played minutes Modlau got a freekick which was hit by Barry McCray. Rigan Frankson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Lew Yashin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 78 minutes 1948 MKS's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Barry McCray who took care of the corner kick. The supporters of 1948 MKS booed when Modlau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barry McCray didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 86thth minute of the game Rigan Frankson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Modlau's Lew Yashin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Torrey Molloy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 96th minute of the game. One of 1948 MKS:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Modlau:s goal. Ter Stegen went to the wrong direction when Barry McCray was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. The 1948 MKS players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
