The audience was convinced that Barry McCray's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edward Slazak was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Lew Yashin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Teobald Jeziorkowski went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Barry McCray to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Barry McCray shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edward Slazak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A nice corner shot did that Luís Fabiano de Brito got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Lew Yashin quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Edward Slazak stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Barry McCray's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. A collision led to FC MARKUS getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Gandalf Head hit a great ball. If Barry McCray had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zula Puszynski in the 68th minute of play forced FC MARKUS's goalkeeper Edward Slazak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Teobald Jeziorkowski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Modlau's Ostap Geilarov got a free kick in the 72nd minute. 77 minutes into the match, Modlau's goal looked a bit too open when Gandalf Head came free, but Lew Yashin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ostap Geilarov charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Modlau walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
