Freddy Valentine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Jairo Primeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 6 minutes of play, Yala's Freddy Valentine made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jairo Primeiro was left in no man's land by his defense there! Benedicto Lalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeledon Curcio having to interfere. In the 13th minute, Zacarias Rik hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Aquiles Ugutz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 16thth minute of the game Freddy Valentine who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but DON RAMON 72's Jairo Primeiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zeledon Curcio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedicto Lalla in the 19th minute of play. Jairo Primeiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Freddy Valentine, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. DON RAMON 72's Jairo Primeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Freddy Valentine in the 23rd minute of play. Jairo Primeiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santiago Feo in the 27th minute of the match. 34 minutes into the match, DON RAMON 72's goal looked a bit too open when Freddy Valentine came free, but Jairo Primeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Yala's Zeledon Curcio got control of the ball when Aquiles Ugutz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Yala's Freddy Valentine got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 39 minutes into the match, DON RAMON 72's goal looked a bit too open when Freddy Valentine came free, but Jairo Primeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, DON RAMON 72's Aquiles Ugutz got a free kick in the 41st minute. The supporters of DON RAMON 72 booed when Yala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gogo Chabier didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th minute Freddy Valentine shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jairo Primeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benedicto Lalla kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Freddy Valentine managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yala's supporters rose to their feet, but Freddy Valentine was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jairo Primeiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benedicto Lalla to make the kick off. If Gogo Chabier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of DON RAMON 72 booed when Yala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. The referee showed Akira Taffarel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Akira Taffarel hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Benedicto Lalla took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zeledon Curcio. Zeledon Curcio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 78th minute Aquiles Ugutz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeledon Curcio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jairo Primeiro made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Freddy Valentine sent off a good shot on target. Freddy Valentine could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Jairo Primeiro made a huge save. Zeledon Curcio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benedicto Lalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. The Yala supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Yala would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
