With a little luck, Consejo del Mate's Hugo Orlando Gatti got control of the ball when Jose Chale tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jose Chale got free with Hugo Orlando Gatti in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 8 played minutes Consejo del Mate got a freekick which was hit by Honorato Zambujal. In the 9th minute, ATLETICO MENDOZA's Maximino Ruy ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Hugo Orlando Gatti. Hugo Orlando Gatti yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Prudencio Bidun's late challenge caught a Consejo del Mate's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Prudencio Bidun helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, ATLETICO MENDOZA's Prudencio Bidun got a free kick in the 13th minute. In the 13th minute of the match Cayetano Sagrario shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Václav Filipi showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Václav Filipi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bolo Bolaño in the 16th minute of play. 16 minutes into the game, Bolo Bolaño cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Václav Filipi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 19 minutes into the match, Consejo del Mate's goalkeeper Hugo Orlando Gatti had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jose Chale. 21 minutes into the match, ATLETICO MENDOZA's goal looked a bit too open when Julio Kemen came free, but Václav Filipi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cayetano Sagrario kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Lucas Haimar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Orlando Gatti having to interfere. In the 36th minute Justo Muno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Orlando Gatti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hugo Orlando Gatti made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Jose Chale sent off a good shot on target. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jose Chale made a kick off. Václav Filipi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julio Kemen in the 52nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julio Kemen got free with Václav Filipi in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bolo Bolaño in the 58th minute of play forced ATLETICO MENDOZA's goalkeeper Václav Filipi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Consejo del Mate fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. In the 97th minute, Julio Kemen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Václav Filipi was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
