After 22 played minutes Jurassic Monsters SA got a freekick which was hit by Josué Penha. 24 minutes into the match, Jurassic Monsters SA's goalkeeper Denílson Azevedo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edin Džeko. In the 29th minute Anderson Carioca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Pedro de Godoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Denílson Azevedo made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Régis Mello sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Edin Džeko's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Denílson Azevedo was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Denílson Souto to make the kick off. The Jurassic Monsters SA supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Jurassic Monsters SA would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
