Ryszard Iwanowski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ryszard Iwanowski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Virgílio Miranda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Caco Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonardo Teixeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 21st minute Leonardo Teixeira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caco Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Virgílio Miranda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gil Cearense, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Virgílio Miranda came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by SORRISO E. C.'s Ryszard Iwanowski. But to his dismay, Ryszard Iwanowski quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Virgílio Miranda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvério Abraão in the 29th minute of play. Ryszard Iwanowski's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Virgílio Miranda read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. Virgílio Miranda stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ryszard Iwanowski's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. In the 36th minute SORRISO E. C. were awarded a corner. Gil Cearense went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led SORRISO E. C.'s Carlinhos Alcântara to fire away a dangerous shot which Virgílio Miranda despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Carlinhos Alcântara kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Virgílio Miranda. That made the score 2-0 in the 36 minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Compostela FSCMZ's goalkeeper Virgílio Miranda had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gil Cearense. After a rather tough play, Compostela FSCMZ's Michael Spillmann got a free kick in the 43rd minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ryszard Iwanowski made a kick off. In the 51stth minute of the game Ryszard Iwanowski who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Compostela FSCMZ's Virgílio Miranda was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ryszard Iwanowski in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Virgílio Miranda prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 56 minutes into the match, Compostela FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Ryszard Iwanowski came free, but Virgílio Miranda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 57th minute Ryszard Iwanowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgílio Miranda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, Compostela FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Ryszard Iwanowski came free, but Virgílio Miranda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Compostela FSCMZ's zone, Ryszard Iwanowski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Virgílio Miranda came out of the goal and Ryszard Iwanowski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Compostela FSCMZ made a substitution. Evandro Bastos replaced Leonardo Teixeira. In the 76th minute, Ryszard Iwanowski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ryszard Iwanowski in the 78th minute of play forced Compostela FSCMZ's goalkeeper Virgílio Miranda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ryszard Iwanowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgílio Miranda having to interfere. Valdo Gonçalves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Virgílio Miranda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gil Cearense in the 82nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Compostela FSCMZ defense, Gil Cearense kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Virgílio Miranda. The Compostela FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Virgílio Miranda should have stopped the shot. Ryszard Iwanowski kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Caco Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evandro Bastos in the 94th minute of play. Compostela FSCMZ's Virgílio Miranda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ryszard Iwanowski in the 96th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. SORRISO E. C. fully deserved thier win.
