In the 5th minute, Carlos Santana ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Agustín Rossi was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Los Trip's Agustín Rossi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Santana in the 8th minute of play. Teodoro Munhoz got a throw-in 11 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Manuel Santxol. In the 12th minute, Bruno Capello ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ronaldo Giovanelli was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. 14 minutes into the match, Los Trip's Bruno Capello sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ronaldo Giovanelli narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bruno Capello took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ronaldo Giovanelli. Ronaldo Giovanelli dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. 20 minutes into the match, Galo do Japi's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Capello came free, but Ronaldo Giovanelli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronaldo Giovanelli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruno Capello in the 24th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Bruno Capello's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ronaldo Giovanelli was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Bruno Capello took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ronaldo Giovanelli. Ronaldo Giovanelli dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. If Bruno Capello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bruno Capello got free with Ronaldo Giovanelli in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 35 played minutes Los Trip got a freekick which was hit by CJ Asensio. Agustín Rossi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Santana, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. 40 minutes into the game, César dos Santos threw the ball into play from the sideline. Los Trip's Teodoro Munhoz quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Los Trip's José Augusto Peres managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Cafu Ringaa in the 41 minute of the game. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

In the 53rd minute, José Augusto Peres ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ronaldo Giovanelli was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. In the 56th match minute, Galo do Japi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Santana to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Galo do Japi defense, Bruno Capello kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ronaldo Giovanelli. The Galo do Japi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ronaldo Giovanelli should have stopped the shot. Los Trip's Bruno Capello got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Los Trip's Luís Fernando Calderón De La Barca was substituted for Bruno Capello. Ronaldo Giovanelli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cipriano Castro in the 77th minute of play. In the 80th minute Los Trip were awarded a corner. CJ Asensio went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Luís Fernando Calderón De La Barca got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ronaldo Giovanelli quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A collision led to Los Trip getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. CJ Asensio hit a great ball. Teodoro Munhoz made in the 93rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and CJ Asensio immediately put the ball in play. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Luís Fernando Calderón De La Barca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Trip's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Fernando Calderón De La Barca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronaldo Giovanelli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
