A collision led to VARGINHA FC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. João Pedro Cardoso hit a great ball. 23 minutes into the match, PAIDAGOGOS's Szczepan Cuber sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gabriel Medeiros narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the PAIDAGOGOS defense, Paulão Nóbrega kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Witomir Jazwiec. The PAIDAGOGOS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Witomir Jazwiec should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, VARGINHA FC's Gabriel Medeiros got control of the ball when Szczepan Cuber tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind VARGINHA FC's goalkeeper Gabriel Medeiros, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Paulão Nóbrega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Szczepan Cuber recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in PAIDAGOGOS fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 44th minute. Penalty! In the 47th minute there was a penalty for VARGINHA FC. Vágner Arósio stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Witomir Jazwiec. 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Hugon Domin made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, PAIDAGOGOS's Witomir Jazwiec got control of the ball when Denílson Vidal tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Guilherme do Vale came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the VARGINHA FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guilherme do Vale couldn't finish the play. The VARGINHA FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing VARGINHA FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
