SE Palmeiras's Robinho de Sena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save SE Palmeiras from getting a goal against them. A collision led to SE Palmeiras getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Michel Marques hit a great ball. Robinho de Sena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guilherme do Vale in the 31st minute of play. Gabriel Medeiros came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by SE Palmeiras's Michel Marques. But to his dismay, Michel Marques quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. VARGINHA FC's Gabriel Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abelardo Medeiros in the 44th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Guilherme do Vale stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Robinho de Sena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denílson Vidal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of SE Palmeiras booed when VARGINHA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Denílson Vidal didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 62nd minute of the match, Ricardinho Paranaense tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Gabriel Medeiros saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 63rd minute, Dito Donatello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 64 minutes into the match, SE Palmeiras's goal looked a bit too open when Denílson Vidal came free, but Robinho de Sena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, VARGINHA FC's Chicão Dante got a free kick in the 65th minute. Robinho de Sena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulão Nóbrega in the 80th minute of the match. Robinho de Sena came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by VARGINHA FC's Guilherme do Vale. But to his dismay, Guilherme do Vale quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. After 85 played minutes SE Palmeiras got a freekick which was hit by Abelardo Medeiros. 88 minutes into the match, VARGINHA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Michel Marques came free, but Gabriel Medeiros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 89 minutes of play, SE Palmeiras's Ruy Gerber made it 1-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net.
