In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Atlético Univ. UASD's goalkeeper Yánez Aldaeta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 20 minutes into the game, Club Atlético Univ. UASD's Hanley Morrison nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Timo Courtois made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 27th minute Gonzalo Archibeque shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Timo Courtois saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, SSV Ulm 1846's Don Merlot sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Yánez Aldaeta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 32nd minute, Casimiro Villanueva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Don Merlot's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Yánez Aldaeta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Don Merlot could shoot a difficult shot in the 40th minute, which Yánez Aldaeta however easily saved by the left post. Club Atlético Univ. UASD's Yánez Aldaeta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Club Atlético Univ. UASD from getting a goal against them. Don Merlot received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Yánez Aldaeta came out and tried to block the shot, but Don Merlot slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 43rd minute. 47 minutes in the game Mohsen Jaziri did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Hanley Morrison. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Don Merlot was the one to do the kick off. Alberigo Sessa took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Yánez Aldaeta. Yánez Aldaeta dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. 56 minutes into the match, Alberigo Sessa notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Club Atlético Univ. UASD's Yánez Aldaeta. Yánez Aldaeta was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, SSV Ulm 1846's Sven-Olof Lilja got a free kick in the 58th minute. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Willy Iglesias the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Club Atlético Univ. UASD protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Willy Iglesias had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee gave SSV Ulm 1846 a penalty, 69 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Alberigo Sessa, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Club Atlético Univ. UASD's Yánez Aldaeta. 4-1. When Alberigo Sessa came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the SSV Ulm 1846 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberigo Sessa couldn't finish the play. The throw-in from Mohsen Jaziri in the 88th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by SSV Ulm 1846's Delmiro Jayvier. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberigo Sessa in the 89th minute of play forced Club Atlético Univ. UASD's goalkeeper Yánez Aldaeta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alberigo Sessa took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Yánez Aldaeta. Yánez Aldaeta dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The SSV Ulm 1846 fans cheered their team off the field, for while Club Atlético Univ. UASD had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
