The referee ignored GreenSkar FC's protests and gave Ludwig Gerdberg a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to GreenSkar FC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Ludwig Gerdberg hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Desiderio Ostargi put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Jens-Ove Mårtensson. After the first half 1989 Blxsk were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Jens-Ove Mårtensson was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Desiderio Ostargi showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-6 in the 91 minute of play. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
