After having played for 21 minutes, Rodolfo Urbasa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Yo Soy Tu Padre's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodolfo Urbasa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Desiderio Ostargi did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Nery Pumpido 24 minutes into the match. 27 minutes into the match, Yo Soy Tu Padre's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Heredia came free, but Nery Pumpido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30th minute, Victor Heredia fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Nery Pumpido, passed just outside the right post. Desiderio Ostargi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Nery Pumpido made a huge save. Nery Pumpido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Desiderio Ostargi, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. A nice corner shot did that Miguel Godoy got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Nery Pumpido quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Nery Pumpido made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Desiderio Ostargi in the 45th minute of play. Victor Heredia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Nery Pumpido tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Yo Soy Tu Padre's Nery Pumpido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Desiderio Ostargi in the 55th minute of play.
