Mariano Cortez came out of the goal and Álvaro Gaspar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Josué Paiva managed to get in a good position for a shot. VARGINHA FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Josué Paiva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mariano Cortez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 17 minutes into the match, Alvin Thedin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mariano Cortez. Inter MIAMI's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alvin Thedin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Mariano Cortez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Josué Paiva went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 25th minute Josué Paiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mariano Cortez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mariano Cortez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Josué Paiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Adolfo Bautista hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. In the 28th match minute, Inter MIAMI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benigno Montez to maneuver through the defense. In the 48thth minute of the game Josué Paiva who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Inter MIAMI's Mariano Cortez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Josué Paiva was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Josué Paiva's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mariano Cortez was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. 53 minutes into the match, Inter MIAMI's goal looked a bit too open when Josué Paiva came free, but Mariano Cortez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leontin Prelipceanu scored 8-0 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mariano Cortez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mariano Cortez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Josué Paiva's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. 84 minutes had been played when some careless play by Inter MIAMI's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Josué Paiva was slow to take the kick. During this time VARGINHA FC's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on VARGINHA FC's corner Josué Paiva fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Mariano Cortez quite easily take care of the ball. Josué Paiva took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mariano Cortez. Mariano Cortez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 9-0. In the 89th minute, Álvaro Gaspar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mariano Cortez was frozen by the shot and now it was 10-0. 94 minutes into the game, VARGINHA FC's Josué Paiva nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mariano Cortez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 11-0. 97 minutes into the match, Inter MIAMI's goal looked a bit too open when Álvaro Gaspar came free, but Mariano Cortez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mariano Cortez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Josué Paiva in the 98th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. VARGINHA FC fully deserved thier win.
