Murilo Fernandes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. João Brites tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 25th minute Murilo Fernandes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Brites saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ahmet Turan Ayberk's late challenge caught a Mira Sintra's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mira Sintra's João Brites played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmet Turan Ayberk in the 42nd minute of play. After 43 played minutes, mar-azul's Yuri Vargas shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper João Brites came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. João Brites came out of the goal and Murilo Fernandes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mira Sintra's defense didn't have a chance, in the 70th minute, when Murilo Fernandes scored to the left of an out of position João Brites, making the score, 1-1. In a very dangerous position, a player in Mira Sintra fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 72nd minute. Penalty! After some careless play in the Mira Sintra defense, Ahmet Turan Ayberk kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of João Brites. The Mira Sintra fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that João Brites should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Amauri van Beek's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Estevão Lemos was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. After 79 minutes, José Mourinho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mira Sintra and the mar-azul players grew even worse after the yellow card.
