Pál Benkó took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vassilis Tournas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Fanis Eleftheropoulos fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tabachana F.C.'s protests and gave Fanis Eleftheropoulos a yellow card for diving instead. In the 12th match minute, Tabachana F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fanis Eleftheropoulos to maneuver through the defense. 14 minutes into the match, Vassilis Tournas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pál Benkó. Leeds's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vassilis Tournas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. A collision led to Tabachana F.C. getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Stathis Kaligoulas hit a great ball. After 20 minutes of play, Tabachana F.C.'s Loukas Panagiotopoulos made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pál Benkó was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gábor Kádár lost his temper 25 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Vassilis Tournas shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. In the 30th minute Loukas Panagiotopoulos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pál Benkó saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Márton Petres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tasos Kontosoros having to interfere. After some careless play in the Leeds defense, Avraam Lykoudis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pál Benkó. The Leeds fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pál Benkó should have stopped the shot. Tasos Kontosoros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mihály Szikora in the 38th minute of the match. 42 minutes into the match, Vassilis Tournas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pál Benkó. Leeds's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vassilis Tournas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Leeds's Imre Selymes got a good chance for a goal in the 50th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stathis Kaligoulas during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 51st minute, Stathis Kaligoulas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Leeds's Pál Benkó got control of the ball when Vassilis Tournas tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 61 played minutes Tabachana F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Stergios Siontis. In the 63rd minute, Stathis Kaligoulas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mihály Szikora fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tasos Kontosoros having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stergios Siontis in the 72nd minute of play forced Leeds's goalkeeper Pál Benkó to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stathis Kaligoulas kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. The audience cheered when Zsolt Simon's long shot passed Tasos Kontosoros's right side. It was 1-6, 79 minutes into the match. Pál Benkó showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Loukas Panagiotopoulos, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Pál Benkó was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Stergios Siontis showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-7 in the 85 minute of play. Efthimis Stamatiadis's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Pál Benkó firmly grabbed it by the left post. Vassilis Tournas took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pál Benkó. Pál Benkó dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-8. Tabachana F.C.'s Stathis Kaligoulas got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match was over Tabachana F.C. could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Leeds throughout the match.
