The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Ricky Waegemans's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bruno Lanckneus was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Bruno Lanckneus came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Purple Talents's Qiu Feng Guo. But to his dismay, Qiu Feng Guo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 14 played minutes Internacional got a freekick which was hit by Samuel Cardoso. Purple Talents's Charl Anthonis took a good shot, in the 16th minute, which hit the crossbar above Bruno Lanckneus's head, and flew over the goal. Internacional's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Purple Talents. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Internacional's goalkeeper Bruno Lanckneus, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Luan Toscano came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Internacional fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luan Toscano couldn't finish the play. 22 minutes into the match, Internacional's goal looked a bit too open when Qiu Feng Guo came free, but Bruno Lanckneus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Eriberto de Castro fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Internacional's protests and gave Eriberto de Castro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 31st minute, Eriberto de Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 35th minute Ricky Waegemans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Lanckneus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Luan Toscano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Internacional's supporters rose to their feet, but Luan Toscano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iker Carabajal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 43rd minute, Qiu Feng Guo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bruno Lanckneus was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 46th minute, one of Purple Talents:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Purple Talents.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luan Toscano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bruno Lanckneus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Qiu Feng Guo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 53rd play minute Qiu Feng Guo came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Bruno Lanckneus. 0-3. If Fre De Beer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bruno Lanckneus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricky Waegemans in the 63rd minute of the match. Fre De Beer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Bruno Lanckneus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Internacional's Bruno Lanckneus got control of the ball when Qiu Feng Guo tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 86 minutes of play, Purple Talents's Qiu Feng Guo made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bruno Lanckneus was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Purple Talents supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Purple Talents would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
