After 7 minutes, Luan Netto made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Sαηgrε Azuɭ's Walter Kannemann tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 10th minute, Sαηgrε Azuɭ's Igor Virila seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Igor Virila the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Sαηgrε Azuɭ protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Igor Virila had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Igor Virila hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. In the 11th minute, João Pedro Toledo made a precise shot to the right of Walter Kannemann. Sαηgrε Azuɭ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. The supporters of Sαηgrε Azuɭ booed when Internacional was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Pedro Toledo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 18 played minutes Internacional got a freekick which was hit by Nando de Alcântara. In the 18th minute of the match Bruno Eguntsenti shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bruno Lanckneus showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Internacional's Bruno Lanckneus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victorino Euloxu in the 20th minute of play. 22 minutes into the game, Internacional's Michel Faria nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Walter Kannemann made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Bruno Lanckneus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victorino Euloxu, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Lambis Dimitropoulos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-5 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Michel Faria stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michel Faria in the 51st minute of play forced Sαηgrε Azuɭ's goalkeeper Walter Kannemann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Internacional's Bruno Lanckneus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvaro Henry in the 53rd minute of play. If Osvaldinho Batista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bruno Lanckneus stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Victorino Euloxu's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. Osvaldinho Batista charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Osvaldinho Batista the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Internacional getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Michel Faria hit a great ball. In the 65th match minute, Sαηgrε Azuɭ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodoro Bidun to maneuver through the defense. Osvaldinho Batista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walter Kannemann having to interfere. Bruno Lanckneus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victorino Euloxu in the 91st minute of the match. A collision led to Internacional getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Osvaldinho Batista hit a great ball. 94 minutes into the match, Victorino Euloxu notched a goal, 2-6, to the right of Internacional's Bruno Lanckneus. Bruno Lanckneus was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Internacional supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Internacional would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
