Fluminense di Parma's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cleiton Carioca ran over to the corner to take the kick. Fluminense di Parma's Erik Ramalho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerson Carneiro in the 24th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kalle Billberg in the 33rd minute of play forced Fluminense di Parma's goalkeeper Erik Ramalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Poetass FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cleiton Carioca in the 58th minute. It was a well-played corner which Gerson Carneiro managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. 61 minutes into the game, Gerson Carneiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Erik Ramalho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 65th minute Witalis Brysz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erik Ramalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erik Ramalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerson Carneiro in the 71st minute of play. Erik Ramalho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. Nildo de Souza scored 0-6 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Erik Ramalho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Poetass FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
