Hendrik Herremans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacinto Mino, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. In the 5th minute Rafael Hondo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hendrik Herremans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jason Jonckers in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcos Esdras saved Palermo from getting behind. In the 8th minute, Jacinto Mino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Palermo's goalkeeper Marcos Esdras, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The corner led Limburg United's Kieth De Hond to fire away a dangerous shot which Marcos Esdras despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Jacinto Mino scored 0-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hendrik Herremans, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jason Jonckers's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 24thth minute, Marcos Esdras skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Hendrik Herremans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donato Vachon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Palermo's zone, Garry Bastin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcos Esdras came out of the goal and Garry Bastin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Limburg United booed when Palermo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dionisio Oton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcos Esdras made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joop Hollandts in the 31st minute of play. Joop Hollandts's late challenge caught a Palermo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joop Hollandts helped the player get up and apologised. Palermo's Marcos Esdras proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Palermo from getting a goal against them. 36 minutes into the game, Jason Jonckers recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marcos Esdras. Jason Jonckers showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Garry Bastin hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Marcos Esdras made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Garry Bastin sent off a good shot on target. Hendrik Herremans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacinto Mino in the 44th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.
If Jason Jonckers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 56 minutes into the match, Palermo's goal looked a bit too open when Anthony Standaerts came free, but Marcos Esdras reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hendrik Herremans made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Jacinto Mino sent off a good shot on target. In the 59th minute Joop Hollandts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Esdras saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hendrik Herremans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafael Hondo in the 60th minute of the match. Jason Jonckers's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcos Esdras read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, Limburg United's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Hondo came free, but Hendrik Herremans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute Joop Hollandts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Esdras saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Donato Vachon charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Donato Vachon the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Palermo's Marcos Esdras played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bob Thielens in the 69th minute of play. If Jacinto Mino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Limburg United's Jason Jonckers in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Palermo's goalie prevented a goal. Joop Hollandts's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcos Esdras read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. In the 76th minute Donato Vachon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hendrik Herremans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcos Esdras didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joop Hollandts went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. In the 80th minute Joop Hollandts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Esdras saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcos Esdras took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jason Jonckers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 83rd minute of the match, Rafael Hondo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Hendrik Herremans saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When the match clock showed 89 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Jason Jonckers sped through Palermo's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Marcos Esdras. 93 minutes into the game, Bob Thielens was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Limburg United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palermo the free kick. After 93 played minutes Limburg United got a freekick which was hit by Bob Thielens. For all the effort they put into the match, the Palermo players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Limburg United.
