Timo Courtois dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. When Soczewki Gliwice's Tomasz Sobania in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SSV Ulm 1846's goalie prevented a goal. Timo Courtois made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgar Matela in the 38th minute of play. Wincenty Puchlik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberigo Sessa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wincenty Puchlik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberigo Sessa, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 44th minute, Tomasz Sobania got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomasz Sobania made a kick off. Wincenty Puchlik showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Don Merlot in the 51st minute of the match. Alberigo Sessa might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wincenty Puchlik. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alberigo Sessa ran back to his position shaking his head. Wincenty Puchlik showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberigo Sessa in the 56th minute of the match. Alberigo Sessa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wincenty Puchlik having to interfere. Soczewki Gliwice's Zdzislaw Witek was substituted for Adam Dziurowicz. In the 68th minute of the game Lucjan Tscherner made a throw-in which Marcin Nikodemski played forward. Tomasz Sobania could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Timo Courtois made a huge save. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
