When Edmund Fristedt fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hisingen IK's protests and gave Edmund Fristedt a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Hisingen IK getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Edmund Fristedt hit a great ball. After 11 played minutes, Palestra do Interior's Nelsinho Marinho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Konrad Lilja came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Palestra do Interior reached it. 14 minutes into the match, Zé Orella dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Konrad Lilja, 1-0. Nelsinho Marinho who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 16thth minute tested the skills of Konrad Lilja when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Hisingen IK booed when Palestra do Interior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nelson Xavier didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 26 played minutes Hisingen IK got a freekick which was hit by Edmund Fristedt. Hisingen IK's Konrad Lilja played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldo Pirani in the 27th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Palestra do Interior's Ezequiel de Souza slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Konrad Lilja. That made the score 2-1 after 28 minutes of play. In the 31st minute, Ronaldo Pirani made a precise shot to the right of Konrad Lilja. Hisingen IK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Konrad Lilja took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Orella, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Hisingen IK defense, Nelsinho Marinho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Konrad Lilja. The Hisingen IK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Konrad Lilja should have stopped the shot. Nelsinho Marinho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Konrad Lilja made a huge save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nelsinho Marinho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Nelsinho Marinho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Konrad Lilja. Hisingen IK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nelsinho Marinho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. A collision led to Palestra do Interior getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Nelsinho Marinho hit a great ball. After 59 played minutes Hisingen IK got a freekick which was hit by Kurt Ersman. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nelsinho Marinho in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Konrad Lilja saved Hisingen IK from getting behind. 63 minutes into the match, Ronaldo Pirani had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Konrad Lilja. Hisingen IK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ronaldo Pirani was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-1. Konrad Lilja made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nelsinho Marinho in the 65th minute of play. Konrad Lilja showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nelsinho Marinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. After 69 played minutes Hisingen IK got a freekick which was hit by Rudolf Björnsson. In the 69th minute of the match Ezequiel de Souza shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Konrad Lilja showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 70th minute, Adam Örtlund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nelsinho Marinho took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Konrad Lilja. Konrad Lilja dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-1. When the match clock showed 76 minutes, the score became 9-1 when Nelsinho Marinho sped through Hisingen IK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Konrad Lilja. Konrad Lilja made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Orella in the 80th minute of play. 83 minutes into the match, Hisingen IK's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Orella came free, but Konrad Lilja reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Konrad Lilja came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Palestra do Interior's Luisão de Medeiros. But to his dismay, Luisão de Medeiros quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 10-1. Hisingen IK's Konrad Lilja played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Orella in the 88th minute of play. Hisingen IK's Edmund Fristedt got his second yellow card of the match in the 88th minute. The referee ordered Edmund Fristedt off the ground. Edmund Fristedt hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelsinho Marinho in the 92nd minute of play forced Hisingen IK's goalkeeper Konrad Lilja to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 93 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Palestra do Interior's Zé Orella fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. In the 94th minute, Kurt Ersman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee ended the match the Palestra do Interior players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
